Anglers Insight Marketing has been running professional
level Walleye Tournaments for the past 5 years with the CRR (Catch, Record,
Release) Format. With limited success at
the professional level, AIM has decided to bring their unique format to the
weekend tournament angler.
There will be two separate divisions (Minnesota and
Wisconsin) which will have three qualifying tournaments each. There will also be a Wild Card Event that
will count for both divisions on the Mississippi River on June 29. The Wild Card Event was designed to give
anglers a fourth option to fish three AIM events in case of scheduling
conflicts with other events. Jim Miller
has been named the Tournament Director for the Minnesota division, while Denny
Fox will head the Wisconsin division.
The Minnesota division will kick off on May 18 on Ottertail
Lake, then travel to Lake Mille Lacs on June 8 for the second qualifier. The final qualifier will be held on Leech
Lake on July 13. For those who qualify
for the championship, it will be held on August 9-10 on Lake Winnibigoshish.
The Wisconsin division will begin in Winneconne on the
waters of the Winnebago system on April 27 before heading to Green Bay on May
11. The third event will be held on Lake
Winnebago on July 13. Championship
qualifiers will be fishing Green Bay on September 6-7.
Entry fees have been set at $300 per team for all
qualifiers, and $500 for the state championship events. There will also be a $35 AIM angler
membership fee per angler that must be paid prior to fishing any AIM event.
Payouts for the state qualifiers( Based on 100 Boats) are as follows below. The winning team in each state qualifier will
also win a paid entry into the 2014 AIM Pro Team Challenge Event on Green Bay,
which is a $1250 value and gives teams a chance at winning over $30,000 in this
event, not to mention an opportunity to compete against the best anglers in the
